> SmallRun is an online marketplace for independent makers - primarily electronics projects, open-source hardware, and DIY kits, alongside tabletop gaming accessories, fandom art, miniatures, and other small-batch geeky goods.

## Platform
- Marketplace for independent creators focused on electronics, OSHW, and maker goods; sellers keep a large share of every sale
- Commission: 7.0% + $0.40 flat fee per order
- Payments: Stripe; sellers paid via Stripe Express (typically 2 business days for US) or PayPal
- Shipping: calculated (Shippo - USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, Canada Post), flat-rate, or free
- Tax: Stripe Tax handles US sales tax and EU VAT automatically
- International: ships globally; EU IOSS registration in progress
- Build logs: sellers publish project journals (design notes, schematics, assembly guides) attached to their shop
- Buyers: wishlists, direct buyer-seller messaging, order tracking, buyer-initiated returns, seller coupon codes
- Products can have variants and optional add-ons; OSHWA-certified hardware displays its certification mark; AI-assisted products are labeled as such

## Selling
- One all-in fee (card processing included) - no listing, insertion, or monthly store fees
- Open a shop by registering and completing seller onboarding; payouts via Stripe Express or PayPal
- Import existing listings from eBay or Tindie
