Selling on Tindie? Bring Your Shop to SmallRun.
The same audience of hardware people, payouts in days with no minimums or holds by us, one all-in fee, and seller tools that actually move stock - group-buy runs, back-in-stock alerts, coupons, and build logs. Import your Tindie store in minutes and you don't even have to leave Tindie to start.
Paid in Days, Not Weeks
Stripe payouts arrive on Stripe's standard schedule - typically about 2 business days after a sale for US sellers. No minimum balance, no batch cycle, no payout-request forms. SmallRun never holds your funds.
Run Small Batches as Group Buys
Announce a run, collect commitments up front, and only build once it's funded - with a live progress bar and a waitlist that emails fans when the next batch opens. Made for exactly how hardware makers actually produce.
Tools That Sell While You Solder
Wishlisted buyers get automatic back-in-stock and price-drop emails. Your products go out in a Google Shopping feed, coupons and volume pricing are built in, and Build Logs keep followers coming back between releases.
Bring Your Whole Store - In Minutes
Don't retype a thing. Give our importer your Tindie username or store URL and we'll pull in your listings - photos, prices, descriptions, and product options. You choose which ones to bring over, and they land as drafts so you can review and tidy them before anything goes live.
And when you're ready, they publish instantly - there's no listing approval queue on SmallRun.

Getting Paid, Without the Asterisks
Your money is yours - here's exactly how it moves.
| Payout Speed | Stripe's standard schedule - typically about 2 business days after a sale for US sellers. You control your payout settings from your own Stripe dashboard. |
|---|---|
| Minimum Payout | None. No balance threshold, no 14-day batch cycle, no request forms - every sale pays out on its own. |
| Payout Fees | None from SmallRun. The all-in selling fee below is the whole fee. |
| PayPal | Still supported. Makers in the 190+ countries PayPal reaches can be paid to their existing PayPal account (one-time document review; each payout follows a 30-day hold, which can be reduced for established shops). |
| Business Registration | Not required. Stripe Express supports individual accounts in most countries, and PayPal payouts work for hobbyists without a registered business. |
Funds are sent directly to you by Stripe or PayPal - SmallRun never holds them along the way. Full details in the FAQ.
The Fee Math, on a $65 Order
Total selling fees on a $65 product with free shipping, before sales tax.
| Marketplace | Fees | You Pay on $65 |
|---|---|---|
| SmallRun | 7% all-in (processing included) + $0.40/order - no payout fees | $4.95 (7.6%) |
| Tindie | 8-9% (5% platform + 3-4% payment processing) + payout fees | $5.53 (8.5%) |
The fee gap is real but modest - about $0.58 on a $65 order. The bigger difference is what the fee buys: group runs, back-in-stock alerts, shopping feeds, and payouts with no minimums, holds, or payout fees.
Percentages above cover selling fees only - payout-side costs like transfer fees, minimum-balance thresholds, and per-request charges vary by marketplace and provider, and SmallRun has none. Tindie's rates are current as of June 2026 - check their fee page for the latest. See how SmallRun compares to Etsy, eBay, and Lectronz in our FAQ.
You Don't Have to Burn the Boats
Most makers add SmallRun as a second channel before they shift fully. Keep your Tindie store running, import your catalog here in a few clicks, and send your repeat buyers, project pages, and social followers to a storefront with your branding on it. Once the orders follow, you decide what stays where.
Setup takes a few minutes: create an account, connect Stripe or PayPal for payouts, add a ship-from address, and import. Hit a snag moving over? Reach out - we're happy to help.
Ready When You Are
Two quick steps: create your account, then set up your shop - and the importer takes it from there. No monthly fees, no listing fees; you pay only when something sells.
