I wanted to make a device that could control servos intermittently and survive on battery power for ~ a year. To enable this (since the power pin constantly sucks power, moving or not), the two "+S" pins are cut on and off with a MOSFET. Pinout is arranged so that two standard servos can be plugged in directly.
Current version (shown) has been successfullly tested, but needs an add-on capacitor to avoid shutdown during servo powerup. New version will include an onboard capacitor that should alleviate this, and some other minor changes. There's still room for an extra capacitor as needed.
It's tiny too (the Tiny Power 2, one might say) at 22mm x 22mm.
