WHY YOU NEED IT:

While the ceramic heating element on Japanese 100V Hakko imports handles 120V power smoothly via its built-in thermal control circuit, the internal DC vacuum pump motor does not. Plugging a stock 100V Japanese model directly into a US 120V wall outlet forces the internal pump motor to spin roughly 20% faster, leading to louder operation, severe electrical strain, and premature motor burnout. This kit drops that line voltage exactly at the power rails.
