PicoPROM

Description

Writes ROM images to parallel-interface EEPROMs via XMODEM file transfer over USB.

This hardware is based on the specifications and firmware created by George Foot on GitHub under the terms of unlicense. The hardware specifications have been modified to support write verification using a bus transceiver.

USB-C Power Issues (2026-01-02)

I've discovered that some of the USB-C Raspberry Pi Pico clone boards that I've been using may have issues with their CC resistors which caused the device not to be powered correctly when using a USB 3.x cable (typically, USB-C to C). If you encounter this issue, try using a USB 2.x USB-C cable (typically USB-A to C) instead which doesn't have this problem.

2026-04-10 - International Shipping

Unfortunately, the costs and headaches of shipping outside the US has gotten much worse in recent months due to international events and policies. Rather than continuing to raise my shipping rates and still occasionally taking losses, I've decided to forgo international shipping altogether until the situation improves. To my international customers, I'm really sorry. 😿 My designs are all open hardware, so I recommend looking into ordering PCBs and parts from a reputable manufacturer such as JLCPCB or PCBWay.
