GW-48T59-1 Module Repair Board

For sale are new Glitch Works GW-48T59-1 NVRAM repair modules. These modules are used to replace the entire CAPHAT assembly on a dead Mostek/ST MK48T59 NVRAM, commonly found in older Sun computer systems. This listing is for the assembled repair board and CR1225 battery, as seen in the first picture. The second picture illustrates the module installed on a recycled MK48T59 NVRAM, but the NVRAM IC is not included in the listing.

These modules will work on a number of Mostek/ST 28-pin clock/NVRAM ICs, but were designed for MK48T59s. You can find installation instructions and read about their development on our site. (the link is for the GW-48T02-1, which is very similar to the GW-48T59-1)

DO NOTE: these modules make use of a primary lithium cell and will be marked as such for shipping. Modules shipped to US addresses will come with the CR1225 cell uninstalled to limit battery drain while not in use. Due to USPS regulations, modules shipped to international addresses must be shipped with the CR1225 installed in the GW-48T59-1. If you will be storing the GW-48T59-1 for a long period before using it, it is recommended to remove the CR1225 and store it separately to limit discharge.

48T59 Modules

We don't have a stock of old 48T59 modules to rebuild, so we can't offer pre-assembled rebuilt GW-48T59-1 modules. If you have 48T59s that need rebuilding, please contact us -- we will refurbish as many modules as you provide for $25 each.
