The 8085 SBC rev 3 has been superseded by the 8085 SBC rev 4 Mini and is only available as a bare board.
The Glitch Works 8085 SBC rev 3 is an 8085-based single board computer with Glitchbus expansion. Features include:
- 8085 CPU at 2 MHz (higher clock speeds supported)
- 64K onboard static RAM, compatible with FeRAM
- 32K EEPROM with ROMFS support
- 8251A USART console with independent bitrate clock
- Configurable ROM and I/O addressing and options
- USER software-controlled LED
- Reset debounce and low-voltage supervisor
- Pre-programmed EEPROM with GWMON-80 monitor and IMSAI 8K BASIC
- CF interface available for CP/M support (bootloader already in EEPROM)
- Single 5V supply operation
- RS-232 serial console port
- User's manual and assembly guide with full schematics, theory of operation
This project is available as a bare board, full parts kit or assembled and tested. The parts kit includes all components you need to assemble the basic SBC kit, including pigtails for 5V power and RS-232 serial.
Our parts kit includes a CPU clock crystal for 2 MHz operation (4 MHz crystal). The 8085s included in our kits can operate at higher clock frequencies, but we recommend starting with a 4 MHz crystal before attempting any overclocking. Conservative design has allowed one of our internal testing 8085 SBC rev 3 boards to run at over 9 MHz with a special 8085!
The 8085 SBC rev 3 pairs well with the GW-GLITCHBUS-CF1 CompactFlash adapter, which allows the SBC to run CP/M 2.2 from a CF card (the card is shipped preloaded with our customized CP/M 2.2 image). We're offering bundle options for the CF adapter, as a kit or fully assembled and tested. Any CF option bundled with an 8085 SBC rev 3 comes with a stacking connector, four standoffs and mounting screws, and a 64MB industrial CF card preloaded with CP/M 2.2 for the 8085 SBC rev 3.
