Capacitive Touch Pedal PCB Used With Raspberry Pi Pico
What is it?
The RP20-Footie capacitive touch pedal for Raspberry Pi Pico
Why did you make it?
It's an ultra-fast way to actuate something with your (bare) feet or fingers. Can be used as a macro pad, MIDI interface, or simple switch with an opto-isolator as shown in assembly images.
What makes it special?
Takes no force to activate, and can be turned on and off really, really fast. 3 sections allow you to do different actions without being too crowded for foot actuation. Can also be used for finger interface if you so desire.
Features dual footprints that can use surface mount or through hole components for 1 MOhm resistors and Raspberry Pi Pico (seen in one of the product images).
What else?
Does not include a Raspberry Pi or needed 1 MOhm resistors. You will need to solder those on for it to work.
The breakout pins were meant to link 2 pads together, but I didn't include a ground, so they don't function quite as intended. There is a prototyping area for further expansion.
Old version, with silver contacts is shown in some images. New version has solder mask over pads, which looks a lot better, but is untested. Should work fine, but if there are any issues, I will happily make it right.
